Neamhaí; Celestial

This collection of paintings was inspired by my Mothú collection. While trying to find a way to relate the paintings of animals to the world around them I felt that I needed something less formal. Through a trial and error approach and utilizing elements from the animals themselves I found myself working in a more abstract format, something I'm unaccustomed to.

However although I am not an abstract painter I found myself drawn to the freedom of expression it provided and it was from this perspective that I decided to create a collection based entirely on this basis. It was much more challenging than I expected. However it was a challenge I very much enjoyed and intend to continue with. I hope you enjoy them.
