Mothú; Feeling, perception; sensation,
consciousness.

Although I have several cats, I have neither dogs nor horses. However living in the countryside I come across them on a regular basis. Like most people, I talk to my pets, and even when on a walk or run as I pass by dogs and horses on the roads or cows in the fields I usually say hello, even if it's just a quiet murmur to myself. I don't know why, it just seems the polite thing to do.

It has often made me wonder how they perceive me and what I'm saying. I'm intrigued by how we as a species, even when we meet for the first time, can quickly use our words to get to know one another. Our eyes and body language also play a part, however for animals, in the absence of words they have only their eyes and body language to communicate with us  and our tone and body language to understand us.

And it's this and those senses that inspired this collection.

With loose textural painting combined with dramatic colouring and some  realistic elements, each piece has a special meaning for me. I've kept the titles simple and vague as your interpretation of each painting may differ to mine.

I hope you enjoy them.
